古希を迎えながらも闘病を続ける坂本龍一に捧げた企画アルバム「A Tribute to Ryuichi Sakamoto - To the Moon and Back」。世代やジャンルを超えたアーティストたちが真の愛情を持ってリモデル（再生成／再構築）したベストコレクションだ。
本企画はサプライズ・ギフトとして坂本龍一本人には秘して制作が進められた。リリースに先駆けて、本日11月9日に「Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence – Electric Youth Remodel」と「Thousand Knives – Thundercat Remodel」が先行配信される。「戦メリ」を担当したのは、カナダのシンセポップデュオ、エレクトリック・ユースだ。坂本龍一作品のDNAを受け継ぎながら、オリジナル作品を独自にアレンジしてリモデルし、新たな音楽フォームを生み出した。
サンダーキャット、デヴォンテ・ハインズ、ヒドゥル・グドナドッティルといった坂本龍一の音楽を愛するアーティストたち、アルヴァ・ノト、コーネリアス、大友良英、フェネス、さらには10年ぶりに歌唱を披露したデヴィッド・シルヴィアンといった長年のコラボレーターや友人たち、リム・ギョン、ガブリアル・ウェクら坂本龍一と最近交流を持つようになったアーティストなど、様々なつながりを持つアーティストが参加。ソロ作品、映画音楽と全年代キャリアから選曲された13曲を収録したアルバムは11月30日リリースとなる。
