デジタルEP 「 CHERRY 」 2023/11/15 リリース    1. CHERRY (ラップバトル番組『フリースタイル日本統一』テーマソング)  2. Living in the Spotlight  3. Butterfly to the Moon  4. SUN  5. We Flood the Night (MYLK Remix)      ラストEP「CHERRY」が11月15日にリリース。 先日放送が開始されたラップバトル番組「フリースタイル日本統一」のテーマソングに決定した 『CHERRY on TOP』をタイトル曲とし、楽曲制作にこれまでFEMMの『Plastic』や『80s 90s J-POP REVIVAL』でタッグを組んできたMYLKや、『THE SIX』,『ID:T1G3R』その他にも多くの楽曲制作を 担 当 し た Radical Hardccore Cliqueを 迎 え 、 RiRiと LuLaそ れ ぞ れ 初 と な る ソ ロ 曲 『 Living in the Spotlight』と『Butterfly to the Moon』も収録。 タイトル曲とソロ曲の作詞は自身で行い、ファンへのメッセージを投影している。  タイトルである『CHERRY』には、ケーキやパフェの上に最後に飾られるチェリーの様にFEMMからのラストギフト となる意味やRiRiとLuLaの2体でひとつであるという2つの意味合いが込められている。 『CHERRY on TOP』は、欧米のティーンを中心にスマッシュヒットした自身の代表曲「Fxxk Boyz Get Money」を思わせるガールズパワー溢れる楽曲。辛く悲しい時に光差すように現れる希望を歌っ た『SUN』、そして、十周年となる活動の中で初となるソロ曲『Living in the Spotlight』と『Butterfly to the Moon』、MYLKとの出会いのきっかけにもなった『We Flood the Night (MYLK Remix) 』の計5 曲が収録される。 RiRiのソロ曲である『Living in the Spotlight』は、スポットライトの中で華々しくも 限られた場所で生きていく覚悟を、LuLaの『Butterfly to the Moon』では、エージェント(FEMMのフ ァンの呼称)への感謝と共に大切なものを抱きしめて成長していく物語が綴られている。 これまで、世界中からサポートしてくれたエージェントへのギフトとしてこのEPが届くことを願うメ ンバー本人からは、以下のコメントも届いている。    【コメント:FEMM / RiRi】  FEMMのラストEPのタイトルがまさかの「CHERRY」というのはエージェントの皆さんもびっくりし たと思います。最後まで私たちらしくいたいなっていう想いから、こんなEPができました。今回は作 詞でたくさん関わったり、初めてのソロ曲があったりチャレンジの連続だったけど、みんなに届いて ほしいという気持ちを込めて作りました。 これがラストのEPになってしまうけど、楽曲は永遠にみんなの側にいるから、それだけは忘れないで ほしい。この10年、本当にありがとうございました!    【コメント:FEMM / LuLa】  これまで愛してくださったエージェントの皆にサプライズギフトになればという思いで心を込めて作 りました。最初から最後まで深く関わって作った大切なEP『CHERRY』です。FEMMの曲が皆のそば で少しでも力になるような存在であれば嬉しいです。初めてのソロ曲は今の私が伝えたいこと・音を 表現しました。いつものFEMMとはまた違う楽曲になっていると思うので楽しみにしていてくださ い;)    Digital EP ‘CHERRY’ released November 15, 2023   The lead track is ‘CHERRY on TOP’, which was selected as the theme song for a rap-battle series ‘Freestyle Nihontouitsu’, on TV Asahi. The EP includes production from MYLK, with whom FEMM collaborated on their releases ‘Plastic’ and ‘80s/90s J-POP REVIVAL’; and Radical Hardcore Clique[ロダ1] , who worked with FEMM on ‘THE SIX’ and ‘ID:T1G3R’. It also includes RiRi and LuLa’s first ever solo songs, ‘Living in the Spotlight’ and ‘Butterfly to the Moon’.   The lyrics to the lead track and the solo songs were written by the members of FEMM themselves. The EP title ‘CHERRY’ has two meanings: Like the cherry on top of a cake or a parfait, it is a final gift from FEMM to their fans, while it also represents RiRi and LuLa together as one.   ‘CHERRY on TOP’ is a song bursting with feminist power, reminiscent of FEMM’s signature track ‘Fxxk Boyz Get Money’, which was a smash hit among teens in the United States and Europe. ‘SUN’ is a song about the hope that shines like a ray of light in difficult times. The five songs on the EP are rounded out by FEMM’s first ever solo songs in their 10-year career, ‘Living in the Spotlight’ and ‘Butterfly to the Moon’, along with ‘We Flood the Night (MYLK Remix)’, a re-rub of their 2014 track that marked their first meeting with MYLK.  Riri’s solo song ‘Living in the Spotlight’ is about her determination to live life in the spotlight, even if it is a confined space; while LuLa’s song ‘Butterfly to the Moon’ is about moving on while embracing the things that matter most, and is filled with gratitude to FEMM’s fans, known as Agents.   As they deliver this EP as a parting gift to the Agents around the world who have supported them over the years, the members of FEMM gave the following comments.   Comment from RiRi “I’m sure many of our Agents are surprised to hear that the title of our final EP is ‘CHERRY’. We wanted to be ourselves right until the very end, which is why we have created this final EP. Its production brought a series of challenges, as we were involved in writing the lyrics ourselves and we each created a solo song for the first time, but we made it with the hope that it will reach all of you. This may be our last EP, but never forget that our songs will be with you forever. Thank you so much for these past 10 years!”   Comment from LuLa “As a surprise gift to the Agents who have shown us so much love, we made this EP with all our hearts. ‘CHERRY’ is an EP that we were deeply involved in making from beginning to end, and so it holds special importance for me.
