Moné Hattori, violin

Born in Tokyo in 1999, Moné Hattori was the Grand Prix winner at the 2015 International Boris Goldstein Violin Competition in Bern.
 
A protégé of Aguri Suzuki, Yasuko Ohtani, Akiko Tatsumi and Zakhar Bron, Hattori has also been awarded the 1st Prize and the Grand Prix at the 11th International Competition for Young Violinists in Honour of Karol Lipinski and Henryk Wieniawski, the All Japan Art Association Competition, the International Competition “Young Virtuosos - 2013” in Bulgaria, and the International Competition for Young Violinists (Senior Division) in Novosibirsk.
 
Since 2010, Hattori has performed in recitals and as a soloist around Europe, including a performance in 2015 with Vladimir Ashkenazy and the European Union Youth Orchestra in Italy and Switzerland. She has appeared at the Khachaturian International Festival and the Trans-Siberian Art Festival, performing with Vadim Repin, and has also been featured on several Japanese TV programmes.
 
Hattori started playing the violin at the age of 5 and enrolled in The Music School for Children of the Toho Gakuen School of Music the year after, making a debut with an orchestra at the age of 8.
 
Moné Hattori is currently enrolled in the Zakhar Bron Academy in Interlaken and in the Tokyo College of Music High School. She plays 1743 by Pietro Guarneri of Venice on loan from Ueno Fine Chemicals Industry, Ltd.
